Obedience to God
When the subject of obedience comes up in relation to the Christian lifestyle and walk, most tend to immediately think of the Ten Commandments. It is true that following the laws and commands of God are a form of obedience in our daily walk. Also, there is a deeper, more personal form of obedience that grows out of understanding, love, forgiveness, and trust. You can touch on these deeper nuances with sermon audios on obedience to God. 2 John 1:6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
God can cultivate boldness through obedience. In the Holy Bible, fire came down from the sky and God burnt up the offering of the Prophet Elijah in an instant. Right before the eyes of the prophets of Baal. Fire ended up consuming these false prophets. Elijah did not start out so bold. God gradually trained this man to trust and depend on him for everything. Even nourishment through the ravens of the air.
1 Kings 17: 2-4 “Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: 3 “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. 4 You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.”
Obedience and Prophet Jeremiah
The Prophet Jeremiah was given visions of the destruction of Judah and had to deliver this terrible news to King Zedekiah. This prophet understood it would take great perseverance and obedience to make it through the coming calamities. Trusting God and Obedience

Moses Disobeys God
Of all those that left the city of Egypt, only two would see the promised land. Even Moses did not get to cross over.
Numbers 20: 6-12 So Moses and Aaron left the people and went to the entrance of the Meeting Tent. There they bowed facedown, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them. 7 The Lord said to Moses, 8 “Take your walking stick, and you and your brother Aaron should gather the people. Speak to that rock in front of them so that its water will flow from it. When you bring the water out from that rock, give it to the people and their animals.”
9 So Moses took the stick from in front of the Lord, as he had said. 10 Moses and Aaron gathered the people in front of the rock, and Moses said, “Now listen to me, you who turn against God! Do you want us to bring water out of this rock?” 11 Then Moses lifted his hand and hit the rock twice with his stick. Water began pouring out, and the people and their animals drank it.12 But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe me, and because you did not honor me as holy before the people, you will not lead them into the land I will give them.”

God’s way is not hard. We make things hard trying to do it our way. His ways will bless you and take care of all your needs and desires. Our Father in Heaven loves us so much that He gave his only begotten Son, Jesus. Because of His grace, we are given more than second chances to get it right. Be encouraged and know that He only wants what is best for you. And, His best is always better than ours. Be in His will and receive the blessings you will not have room enough to hold.
