“Dream, baby. Dream for the best, says Creflo Dollar. You are children of the Almighty God.” Creflo Augustus Dollar is a quarterback for Jesus. He scores alongside stadium gospel crusade preachers like Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Paula White and others. How and why did Creflo Dollar become a preacher? What were his previous vocational choices?
Born on January 28, 1962, Creflo Dollar was raised in a God-fearing Baptist family. One summer, his future wife, Taffi, led him to Christ. However, becoming a preacher was not on his career list. He wanted to play pro ball. After an injury, he realized his life call. The spiritual quarterback began making touchdowns for the gospel of Jesus Christ in his dormitory hall.
Afterward, Creflo Dollar formed the over 100-member World Changers Bible study. After graduation, using a school cafeteria, World Changers Ministry Christian Center was formed with 8 members. Its motto, “… in all thy getting get an understanding.” (Pro. 4:7). His sermons taught believers how to have faith for eternal salvation, healing, family, finances, and more.
Continued growth led Creflo Dollar and congregants to purchase the Atlanta Christian Center Church. Services moved from holding 1 to 4 each Sunday. Next, an $18 million 8,500 seat debt-free sanctuary was built. The World Dome became World Changers Church International (WCCI). The 10 satellite global campuses have at least 30,000 members and 450 employees.
The full-time ministry of Creflo Dollar has at least 12 outreach components and facilities. Creflo Dollar Ministerial Association is a global fellowship for Christian leaders. Creflo Dollar Ministries is the broadcasting, global missions, and partner arm. Arrow Records is the music talent affiliate. CAD Productions is the Christian movies online and filming division of the ministry. WCCI also provides social service programs and ministries in 60 human resource areas.
The 30-year ministerial career of Creflo Dollar includes the writing of 100 books. Two bestsellers are Winning in Troubled Times and Walking in the Confidence of God. He also writes for the Change magazine, The Reservoir journal, and the Max newsletter for Christian leaders. Some colleges use some of Creflo’s written works as a part of their curriculum. The former West Georgia educational therapist has a B.S., an M.S. and a Ph. D. in counseling education. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate in counseling from Oral Roberts University. Dr. Dollar married Taffi Dollar and their 5 children are Lauren, Alexandria, Jordan, Jeremy, and Gregory.
Dream about what the devil says you can’t have. Dream for the best healing. Dream for the best deliverance. Dream for the best house. Dream for the best car. Just because the world doesn’t have it, doesn’t mean you can’t have it. -Creflo Dollar
